New arrivals 11/03/11

Just as we were going out for a meal last night.Ruby one of our 5 year old shorthorns decided to give birth to her calf . Both doing well.

We went to the Buxted Inn at Buxted. It was a delicious meal. The service was very good and of course they serve our dairy ice cream. It’s nice to spend a night out at one of our customers establishments and see how they present our prouduct to their customers.

New Flavour

We have thought it would be a good idea to support a charity. But which one ?!

Fate took over. Mum was diagnosed with Cancer.

Not long after, our vet Andy was also dagnosed with cancer. He arranged to put a theater production on in his field in support of Macmillan and came to us for the ice cream for the interval. We were happy to oblige.

That then gave us the idea to support Macmillan. He introduced us to Ann who represents the charity.

The nurses had helped Mum with her rehabilitation, and are still supporting Andy.

Around the same time Budgens of Hassocks came to me with an idea to help the children from Downlands Community School make a new flavour apprentice style. So we put it all together.

The children in year 8 have come up with 5 possibilities for the new flavour. They are: Lavender with honey, White choc & Raspberry with white choc pieces, Orange & choc, Raspberry & vanilla with crunchy nut clusters and last but not least strawberry with meringue.

They came today 7th March 2011 and helped make thier chosen flavours.

They will be at Budgens doing the taste test to find out which is the most popular flavour for us to add to our list of flavours.

The proceds will be going to Macmillan.

I will post the date of the taste test. All welcome.
